SAR Data facts

The Mission Profile of the SAR equipped satellites is the following:

• Low Equatorial Orbit, circular, low inclination, 550km of height;
• Latitude range 30°N to 30°S
• Orbit period: 96’; eclipse period: 35’

The satellite will have the following main characteristics:

• SAR operating frequency 9. 65 GHz (X band).
• Bandwidth: 300MHz
• Service life: 5 years or more
• Mass: 900-1500kg
• Ground Resolution @ Swath width
  
  
  • Order of 1m x1m @ 10 km in spotlight operating mode. In this mode the SAR will be able to capture data from non contiguous areas of 10x10 km2 with 1 m resolution.
  • Order of 1m x 3m @ 30 km in strip-map mode. In this mode continuous strips of 30 km swath can be processed.
  • 3m x 3m @ 40 Km in scanSAR mode. Larger areas are covered at lower resolution.
